In which way do managers look at absenteeism due to mental reasons?

The Stakeholder workshop takes place at 18 September 2023. This workshop takes place in the framework of a research project of Antwerp Management School, Bpost and B-Tonic. The research project wants to help managers prevent absenteeism due to mental health reasons and to cope better. That will happen thanks to the development of tools for managers, so they can get to work.

This workshop is meant to learn stakeholders’ insights. In other words, your insights. How do stakeholders view the issue of absenteeism due to mental health reasons? What is their experience? What do they think that they themselves can do to prevent absence through illness?

Studies show that the manager has an important role in the prevention of absenteeism due to mental health reasons and usually has very good intentions to do so, but does not have the necessary knowledge and skills. With this research project, we want to provide the tools to handle it well. That is why this workship is necessary: managers’ experience is crucial.
